Bastrop, TX / February, 25, 2025 / On Tuesday, February 25th, Lost Pines Toyota and the Toyota Way Forward Program were recognized at the Bastrop City Council meeting for their efforts in raising funds to support the playgrounds in Bastrop, Texas, in relation to traumatic brain injury (TBI) prevention. Toyota has awarded a total of $170,000 to initiatives focused on TBI awareness and prevention, with $17,057 allocated specifically for resurfacing playgrounds in Bastrop to enhance safety and reduce the risk of brain injuries.

Terry Moore, the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Bastrop, has played a key role in bringing this initiative to life. The resurfacing of playgrounds will provide safer, more durable surfaces to help prevent injuries and ensure a secure play environment for children.
At the meeting, Priscilla Ruiz, Youth Director at Ascension Church and advocate for TBI prevention, alongside Debbie Moore from Ascension Church, and Carlos Liriano, Owner of Lost Pines Toyota, spoke about the importance of this generous donation and its impact on the community. Also in attendance was Dock Jackson, President of the Kerr Community Center, where the playground attached to the center is one of the locations receiving funds for resurfacing.
“This donation from Toyota is a vital step toward making our community safer,” said Carlos Liriano, Owner of Lost Pines Toyota. “We are proud to support this important cause, as the health and safety of our children is our top priority. We are thankful for the collaboration of the Parks and Recreation Department, Ascension Church, Bastrop ISD, and all those working together to make this project a reality.”
Lost Pines Toyota extends its gratitude to Ascension Church, Bastrop ISD, and the Bastrop community for their ongoing support in helping to create safer play spaces for children in Bastrop. When we come together as a community, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
